Welcome to the May 2013 edition of the highend-electronics Newsletter! The Newport Beach 2013 show is just around the corner (May 31st to June 2nd). This exhibition is the largest HiFi show in California with more than 400 manufacturers showing their products in two hotels, the Hilton and the Atrium. We are in the Hilton hotel in room 309. This year we will premiere Voxativ's new amazing speakers - the PI. We also will have the Ampeggio Due II speakers in our room and Ines Adler, designer and CEO will be on site. Amplification comes from KR Audio (Kronzilla and VA900 amps) and Valvet. Also in the boat this year are two very innovative companies from Japan. Aurorasound with their highly awarded phono stage VIDA and ViV laboratory presenting the ground-breaking tonarm Rigid Float - which literally floats on oil. Room acoustic is from HighEnd Novum of Germany and the stands by Gregitek from Italy. The cabeling will be powered by High Fidelity Cables - their first time with us. This show is really fun. There's something for everyone - stereo and home theater systems for every pocket, wine tasting, live music, gourmet food, car show and more... |

Voxativ PI Loudspeakers
|
The new Voxativ PI loudspeaker is equipped with a new sound guiding system: AST = Acoustic Stealth Technology. The driver system is also new. It's equipped with a magnet unit that has been optimized by means of the Finite Element Method (FEM) and AST. The diaphragm coating was specially developed by the University of Chemnitz in Germany. Of course all parts are handmade in Germany. Roland Kraft "Fidelity" (05/2013): "...the PI produces a sound quality that is fascinating, to say the least, and delivers a listening pleasure that one only hears once in a blue moon, if ever..." High Fidelity Cables...is a company in Texas founded by Rick Schultz. HFC offers a new exciting range of audio cables featuring greater clarity and lower distortion. It's a brand new design which employs magnetized conductors and connectors with amazing results. Magnetic Conduction is a patented method for signal transfer. Check it outHarry Pearson, "HPSoundings.com" 12/12: "...these cables really do live up to their name in terms of creating the sense of 'Aliveness' inherent in music itself. All of this, by the way, at a fraction of the cost of some quite highly-rated competing cables." Jack Roberts, "Dagogo.com" 02/13: "...when you consider the cost of some other cables it seems like a bargain for the best interconnects I have ever heard, by a large margin..." |

Synergistic Research PowerCell 6 SE
|
Synergistic Research has released a new power conditioner in their PowerCell line - the PowerCell 6 SE. It employs the same technologies as the PowerCell 10SE MkIII - the winner of TAS product of the year 2012 award - but with only 6 outlets. It's ideal for smaller systems, or enhance it with a QLS powerstrip to a higher number of outlets. The PowerCell 6 SE comes with a five feet Element Tungsten power cable. We think this conditioner is by far the best "bang for the buck" in its class. The retail price is $2,595. Its performance is way beyond what you usually get for that price. Check it out |
| Reviews: | Audio Magic Oracle 24The Audio Magic Oracle 24 is a noise eliminator and designed to neutralize the ambient noise in the room and to clean up the power line at the same time.Joey Weiss, "HPSoundings.com" 03/13: "...the Oracle 24 is like a turbo-booster. If your system is sounding great, flip the switch and it may be just what you need to take the experience up a level. But like 3-D movies, some will crave the effect and some won’t. This is not a 'quick fix' or 'cure-all' by any means. A component like the Oracle 24 exists as a tool to help remove the veils between you and the music, however slightly, but only if a system has the ability to perceive these changes..." KR Audio VA900 integrated tube amplifier
|
The first review for KR Audio's latest integrated tube amplifer VA900 is out. Jacinto Garcia of "HiFi Live": "...The sound is splendid and very natural, everything is wrapped in an aura of the most elegant feeling, with no trace of artificial coloration. The honesty of the VA900 remains faithful to a tremendously balanced sonic scheme... The conclusion cannot be simpler. If you want a realistic sound, the KR Audio VA900 is your amplifier. If you want an amplifier that respects the balance and the necessary neutrality to honest sound... it's also the VA900!"

Synergistic Research Active SE USB CableAndy Schaub, "Positive Feedback Online" 12/12: "...there’s really quite an extraordinary amount of detail but at the same time, a depth and richness to the sound that I now hear... I hear much more stereo separation than I had before but, also, more imaging and soundstaging...very lush, and very analog..." Check out the review
Steven Plasin, "AudioStream" 04/13: "...what stuck
with me the most was the richness of sound and analog character of the cable. The
midrange of this cable can sound absolutely beautiful and revealing at the same
time. Sound staging was not only wide, but extremely deep in presentation. The
deep black background offered by this cable is very impressive. The Synergistic
was never hard-sounding or excessively rounded at the high end. Transients were
well-reproduced with excellent dynamics, both macro and micro. The bass was well
defined and not overly lean..."
