  • Welcome to the February 2011 edition of the highend-electronics Newsletter!

The exhibition at T.H.E. SHOW 2011 in January in Las Vegas was a big success. Several reviews are already in progress and will be published over the next view months.

We showcased two different setups. One setup featured the world premiere of the KR Audio Kronzilla DX MkII with Consensus Audio loudspeakers and the other setup was Valvet amplifiers also with Consensus Audio speakers.

Below a few reactions and comments regarding the sound of our room at T.H.E. Show:

Key Kim of The Stereo Times:"...highend-electronics put together a wonderful sounding room... both systems sounded marvelous (Valvet/Consensus & KR/Consensus). They were very detailed, transparent and provided an organic sound..."

Phil Gold of EnjoyTheMusic.com:"...and the sound in the KR Audio/Consenus room was truly remarkable..."

Robert Learner of Positive Feedback Online:"...the sound was engaging and coherent."

Clement Perry of The Stereo Times:"I have come to always enjoy Alfred Kainz's setup at every event he cares to show off his wares..."

We're looking forward to the next shows - in June which will take place in Newport Beach, and in July in San Francisco.

    KR Audio Kronzilla SXi MkII
    integrated tube amplifier

KR Audio Kronzilla SXi MkII (retail $16,000)

A new review for the Kronzilla SXi MkII integrated tube amp has been released on StereoMojo.com.

Dr. John Richardson came to the conclusion: "...this amp offers a nice built-in preamplifier section with plenty of analog inputs and the motorized volume control ...It is also exceptionally lithe, immediate, resolving, and dimensional. Quite simply, the music poured forth with an ease that I have not heard from other amplifiers, and this quality alone qualifies the Kronzilla, at least in my book, as perhaps the best overall amplifier I have had the pleasure of spending quality time with..."

    New products:

CHISTO - improvement system for CD/SACD/DVD/BLU-RAY

Chisto is a company from the Ukraine that has developed a special disk cleaning system for CD, SACD, DVD and BLU-RAY disks that provides great improvements for sound and picture - we think: it's the best product of it's kind!

The word "Chisto" is the Russian word for "clean". GregiTek RG1 Cable Supports

When current passes through a cable, an electromagnetic field is generated around it. If the cable comes in contact with the floor, not only is the electromagnetic field disturbed, but also the fluidity of the flowing current. In addition, electrostatic charges will unload themselves and cause deterioration of the sound, as vibration of the floor does.

GregiTek's RG1 can eliminate these problems by lifting the cables from the floor (especially speaker- and power cables). The sound becomes more clear and articulate, with more information and details, as well as more realistic with better dynamics. The RG1 are hand made in Italy and finished with a special anti-static varnish. Price is $150 each or $810 for a set of six.

    KR Audio P130 tube preamp

T.H.E. Show 2011 in January marked the US premiere of the new KR Audio tube preamp - the P130.

The P130 features a bandwidth of 10Hz-100kHz, four inputs, remote control, optional phono-stage and 1Vrms sensitivity.

Marek Gencev, KR Audio's chief tube engineer, led the KR team's re-design of the KR10 tube to significantly reduce its inherent microphonics. The resulting high gain KR05 tube allows the P130 to extend Dr. Riccardo Kron's desire to further the state of audio art by creating a non-colored, sonically "approaching theoretical perfection" as an audio amplification system.

The price of this fantatsic sounding tube preamp is $4500. Pair it with a Kronzilla of the MkII series and you will never look for anything else.
